MY STORY & HISTORY
Elaine Hobbs is the daughter of Sarah Edwards Carter (pictured to the right) and the great granddaughter of Ada Edwards, who were both part of the original Franklin Street Flower Ladies of Chapel Hill, NC.
At the age of 15, Elaine (along with her sister Mary M. Jones and cousin Tommy Stone) sold flowers on Franklin Street. Being a typical teenager at the age of 15, she was actually embarrassed to sell flowers on the street; but today, she now embraces the family heritage with much joy. You too can embrace your heritage.

Through training and instruction, Elaine began making designer wreaths and bows. She is being mentored by Bettye Jenkins, Owner and Operator of Bettye’s Flower Design in Chapel Hill, NC. Check out her amazing website: bettyesflowerdesign.com.
Bettye is also the granddaughter of Ada Edwards and was the first to take on the family heritage.

She has been very instrumental to Elaine starting and maintaining her own business. When there was fear and uncertainty on her part, Bettye encouraged her to go forward and not to give up on what God had in store for her.
